The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer mod uses Zink™ Zero-Ink™ Paper for printing 2 x 3” photos. It requires no ink and can be stuck on any surface. Just flip the back of the Mod open like in the image below and load it with the Zero-Ink (ZINK) paper. Select a photo from your phone or take a new picture by pressing the physical capture button on the Mod. Print it, peel off the adhesive tape and stick on any surface. The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Mod has a 500mAh battery that should last for up to 20 prints. The Mod can hold up to 10 sheets of printing paper (1 pack) at a time.

In theory, the basic concept remains the same since you take a photo (this time with a smartphone) and use the printer to print it. Of course, it’s quite different in practice as the Mod is much smaller, quieter and smarter. Of course, Motorola hopes that nostalgia will serve it well in its sales, because the device is aimed at a very specific type of customer. Like all the Moto Mods, this Printer attaches to the back of your Moto smartphone in a specific area. It snaps on and off very easily and, no matter how much you move around, it won’t unclip itself. To take it off, you have to lift up the notch, which is reassuring since that shows you can use it outside without worrying about it falling off. The camera at the top of the smartphone is still visible through a hole in the Mod which was included for this purpose. Underneath, the Mod expands the size of the device because of the paper reserve and the printing system which allows the photo to exit through the slot. You can, of course, open it to insert more paper when your reserve is empty, but you must be careful that you print in a 2 x 3-inch format.
